Another fast moving weather system will affect the area on Wednesday. A few periods of snow are possible for portions of the area, but confidence is low in trends. The first potential round of snow is in the early morning hours across parts of north central and northeast Illinois. The next potential round of snow will be in the afternoon hours. Heads up for this morning: the coldest air mass of the month thus far combined with gusty northwest winds will result in wind chill values near to slightly below zero. Dress appropriately if you’ll be spending prolonged time outdoors and remember to bundle up the kids for school.   A period of light snow is expected Friday night across the region. Snow is expected to start fairly early in the evening near the Wisconsin-Illinois border, gradually spreading south and east across the area, likely reaching Pontiac to Rensselaer and points south late in the evening or just after midnight.   Under mainly clear skies, winds have ease a bit since earlier today, though it will remain blustery. Clouds will increase again after midnight, with a few flurries possible into early Wednesday morning mainly south of I-88 across Illinois and into northwest Indiana.   Next chance for rain, will be late morning Tuesday for the northwest portion of the area with an increasing chance spreading east through the day. Although the rain chance is not great.
