Indiana Moves to Stage 5 of Back on Track Indiana (Covid-19 Response)

Under this adjusted Stage 5, face coverings remain required.

Organizers of events with more than 500 people in attendance will be required to submit a plan to the local health department that outlines measures to mitigate COVID-19.

Restaurants and bars that serve food may open at full capacity as long as six feet of space to maintain social distancing is in place. Customers must be seated at a table or counter.

Indoor and outdoor venues may open at full capacity with social distancing measures in place. Senior centers and congregate meal sites may open with precautions. Personal services and gyms and fitness centers may resume normal operations with social distancing safeguards and cleaning protocols in place.

Details and guidance are updated at BackOnTrack.in.gov and in Executive Order 20-43.

I also signed an executive order extending the public health emergency an additional 30 days.

Highland Main Street Hosts Monthly Restaurant Crawl On September 29th

HIGHLAND | Downtown Highland will be the venue for a new monthly restaurant crawl, beginning September 29th, organized by the Highland Main Street Bureau. Future events will take place on the last Tuesday of each month. The event will feature nine of Highland’s downtown restaurants, each of which
have agreed to provide either a drink, appetizer, small entrée, or dessert for $5 or less. The restaurants are encouraged to change their monthly selection each month to provide variety and to attract repeat customers. Some offers will be available for dine-in only.

The participating restaurants include: Jose’s Family Restaurant, Langel’s Pizza, Dan’s Pierogies, Maria’s Buena Cochina, Growlers, The Counter Ice Cream and Italian Ice, Tradition’s, Sakura Bowl and Sip Coffee 2.

“Highland Main Street wanted to find an opportunity to assist downtown restaurants, which were hard hit by the ongoing COVID-19 emergency,” President Dawn Diamantopoulos said. “We thought that a monthly restaurant crawl, held on what is generally a slower business weekday, would be an ideal way to showcase our great downtown dining options.” The restaurant crawl events will begin at 5:00 pm.

For more information, contact Dawn Diamantopopulos at dawndiamantopoulos@ymail.com or 219.301.0369.
