The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Dutch Farms, and the Times of Northwest Indiana are partnering for “Eggstravaganza” to provide more than 200,000 eggs to Northwest Indiana residents on May 5th, which has been designated as #GivingTuesdayNow. This global day of giving was newly created in response to the COVID-19 crisis, as a means of supporting organizations on the front line, providing emergency services, resources, and support to individuals and families.
“We wanted to make #GivingTuesdayNow really special, by doing something that would impact and safely engage our entire community during this difficult time”, said Victor A. Garcia, Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Executive Director. “Dutch Farms presented a meaningful, relevant, and generous solution by offering to donate eggs for anyone who needs them”.
Residents and local organizations are invited to stop by the Food Bank, between 9am and 6pm, to pick up as many eggs as needed. The Food Bank will have parking lot stations set up to enforce social distancing and other safety precautions. Dutch Farms will also be on site.
“Dutch Farms is looking forward to sharing our blessings at the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana “Eggstravaganza” event. We will arrive bright and early on May 5th, to help distribute over 200,000 donated Dutch Farms eggs. Northwest Indiana is our home and we are happy to do our part to make sure everyone has the food and resources they need to navigate this difficult time”, said Joel Boomsma, Dutch Farms Senior Vice President.
“The Food Bank, Dutch Farms, and the Times of Northwest Indiana are all committed to ensuring that our neighbors have the food needed to thrive during this time”, said Garcia.
