Information about the Free Sack Lunches for Students Affected by School Closures During the COVID-19 Crisis
GFCC wants to help families in need at this time of unprecedented crisis. We know that the schools being closed for the next 20 school days will place a burden on some members of our community. We want to help everyone we can during this time. We will be providing sack lunches daily. Below are the guidelines/information.
– Pick up time will be 11:30 AM -12:30 PM each day until supplies
run out. Please be mindful of the traffic around the church
– Following the lead of the School City of Hammond, children 18
years and younger must be present to receive a sack lunch.
We are so incredibly grateful for all of those who have generously donated already. We look forward to seeing how God will bring good out of crisis.

Food Distribution at GFCC Ministry Center of New Eliott for Those Affected by COVID-19 Crisis
GFCC Ministry Center of New Elliot will be open on Sunday, March 22nd from 1-3 PM for free food distribution for Lake County residents. In response to the Covid 19, distribution will be done drive thru style for your protection as well as for our volunteers. For those that are new to the Ministry Center, we do not require any proof of income and everyone receives the same amount of food regardless of how many are in your home. We report to the Food Bank how many families we assist and how many people are in their household. Please have your ID (or utility bill that shows you name and address – we don’t need to see the bill itself) ready to show through your driver’s side window and how many people are in your household. We will assist one person per household. Watch for the people in the orange vests to direct where your car should go. Please do NOT arrive more than a half hour early. Anyone arriving earlier will be politely asked to leave. Our clothing pantry is closed until the quarantining is over.
