2 PM Radar Update: Snow showers are lingering in spots currently. We will see more snow move in from the south and west as the afternoon progresses.
Periods of freezing drizzle can be expected today, especially for the lakeshore counties. Snow will quickly spread into southern Wisconsin late this afternoon and taper off overnight. Snowfall totals will range from 2 to 8 inches, with highest amounts in southeast Wisconsin.
A Lakeshore Flood Watch is in effect from Sheboygan to Kenosha for early Saturday through Saturday night. Northeast wind gusts of 50 mph and waves of 10 to 13 feet will likely lead to lakeshore flooding and possibly erosion.
Milwaukee Live Radar

Light rain for most locations early this morning will transition to a light wintry mix from northwest to southeast through this afternoon. Then, a brief 6 hour or less period of moderate to briefly heavy snow is possible this evening, with a focus generally from 5-11 pm across northeast Illinois into northwest Indiana. The combination of this snow with strong north to northeast winds will produce a period of hazardous conditions with significantly reduced visibility at times.
Winds are already gusting to 40-50 mph across the Chicago metro, with sustained winds of 25-30 mph. This will continue through today and this evening with the highest gusts, possibly even to 55 mph, near the lake. The speeds will be slightly less away from the metro and the lake. The winds across the Chicago metro are high enough to cause spotty damage, as well as enhance effects of any freezing drizzle today, possibly even resulting in some power outages. The winds will further reduce visibility tonight in snow.
Minor to moderate river flooding imminent on several area rivers, particularly in the Kankakee, Iroquois, Vermilion Basins. For the latest river observations and forecasts, go to:
Significant lakeshore flooding and erosion near Lake Michigan will continue through this evening. Waves of 14-18 feet, occasionally up to 23 feet, will continue along the northeast Illinois shore, including Chicago. Flooding of roads, trails, and beaches has already been reported. Stay away from the immediate lake shore and follow closure notices.
Chicago Radar

Rain continues today, heaviest rain will be along the cold front. Winds could gust up to 40 mph ahead of the front. Precipitation will finally end overnight. Remember: never drive into flood waters, turn around, don’t drown! #inwx
Indianapolis Radar

The warmer weather that we have been having will give way to colder weather tonight into tomorrow. A short period of freezing rain/sleet chances will give way to all snow tonight mainly in the blue area in the map. The rest of the Country Warning Area will see the rain chances change over to snow chances tonight. The blue area on the map could see 0.5″ to 2″ of snow, while the rest of the area will only receive a dusting at most. In the smaller map, the purple area will be under a Winter Weather Advisory tonight, while the orange area will be under a Wind Advisory. Areas along Lake Michigan in Laporte and Berrien counties will be under a Lakeshore Advisory tonight. Then dry, cool conditions will be in place for Sunday into Sunday night.
