What is this Bill and Kali Show all about? Why should I tune in?

What is this Bill and Kali Show all about? Why should I tune in?

As we scroll through our social media feeds, we notice news posts about major happenings and political issues around the world. Literally a news post every 2-3 minutes, 7 days a week 24 hours a day. It can be mind numbing.

One day we decided to evaluate each news item from a perspective of how this news affected the everyday citizen. Otherwise, how was this story going to land on the doorstep of the person who works eight to twelve hours a day just to put food on the table and pay the rent. Or the person who was laid off from their job and are now faced with feeding a family of five with limited and/or no income. What we found was enlightening. With the exception of major weather events such as tornadoes, torrential rainfall, hurricanes or wildfires, very few of the news items knocked on the front door with useful information.

Yet, these news stories resulted in responses of epic proportions from the general public. With every story followed miles and miles of comments and diatribes from people expressing their opinion. The news posts contained everything from two politicians launching political missiles with the hopes of discrediting the other to an action taken by an elected official that rubbed many the wrong way. After all this spent energy by the news media and the general public, we asked the questions; What was resolved? Did this move our society forward in any way shape or form? Did this story help the unemployed factory worker who lost his or her job due to cutbacks? Did any news item make an abused individual feel safer? Yes these questions are rhetorical in nature…we hope.

What do we do? We report news that is helpful not hurtful. We support organizations or individuals who are fighting to help our neighbors by providing a platform to them to share their news. A platform that elevates them from a “Human Interest Story” to “Headline News”. It’s what we do!
