Today through Wednesday will feature the coldest weather of December thus far. Blustery westerly winds will add to the chill of highs in the 20s today, then overnight low temperatures tonight will drop back to the single digits and teens. A fast-moving weather disturbance could bring a period of light snow for some on Wednesday morning, along with a coating of snow in spots which could make for slippery travel if and where it occurs. The rest of Wednesday and Wednesday evening will be quiet and chilly.
Here’s your five day forecast for northern Illinois, portions of central Illinois, and northwest Indiana. Other than a chance of light snow for some on Wednesday morning, the main period of interest into the weekend is on Saturday. A storm system could bring rain and snow, with some areas possibly seeing accumulating snow. This is several days out, so there’s plenty of uncertainty. Please stay tuned to the latest forecast updates.
