National Weather Service Outlook for Saturday, December 7 for Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis and Michiana

National Weather Outlook

Milwaukee

Overall, the weekend looks decent with temperatures running a few degrees above normal, especially on Sunday. We could see some drizzle in the afternoon on Sunday, but most of the day should be dry. A mixture of rain and snow, transitioning to all snow moves in for Sunday night and Monday. Accumulations of around an inch are possible north of Milwaukee and Madison, less to the south. Temperatures crash Monday night into Tuesday with readings dropping to about 20 to 25 degrees below normal. We start to recover by late in the week.

A cold front moves through the area tonight bringing gusty winds out of the north, especially on and near Lake Michigan. Temperatures Friday will be notably cooler with highs mostly in the 30s. Heading into the weekend, expect highs in the 40s, mostly sunny on Saturday with increasing clouds on Sunday ahead of our next weather system. Looking ahead to next week: below normal temperatures continue to be favored across the Great Lakes region. We should see our coldest temperatures so far this month, with the possibility of at least one day having highs only in the teens on Wednesday, lows in the single digits or colder, and wind chills below zero.
Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? For the local area, the probabilities are generally 25 to 55 percent, highest in far northern Illinois.
