Patchy freezing drizzle persists across parts of northern IL early this morning, and a winter weather advisory is in effect until 9 am. A light glaze of ice is possible on elevated surfaces, and untreated pavement such as sidewalks, parking lots and some lightly traveled roads. Freezing rain is expected to develop again this evening, with another winter weather advisory going into effect at 6 pm for areas along and north of I-88 across northern IL. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is possible, before temperatures slowly rise above freezing early Thursday morning.
