Today sunny and the heat continues with a high of 94 expected in the Highland area with heat index up from anywhere from 103 to 106. Southwest winds 10-15 mph increasing as the low pressure area encroaches the Chicago area. No relief with the night time temp only going down to 76 with high humidity levels 96%. So keep that air conditioning on if you have it.
Tomorrow, Sunday a change starts to take place as the low pressure area moves in. The day will start out sunny, with highs reaching 92 with a heat index of 102. Cloud cover will begin to form in the afternoon at the probability of rain and storms increases. The winds will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph (one indicator that the low pressure is entering the area). In the evening rain and storms likely to occur throughout the Chicago area.
Monday slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. West wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
So HOT HOT HOT and muggy during the weekend with a slight reprieve coming Sunday night and into Monday.
