National Weather Service

SaturdayApril14

Rain showers will end across the area early this morning setting up several hours of dry time today. However, expect another round of rain showers and T-storms to return to the area late this afternoon or early this evening. The best chances for thunderstorms with these showers will be south of I-80. Otherwise, expect a very windy day across far northern IL, with northeasterly wind gusts up to 50 mph. Expect rain to continue across the area tonight, possibly mixing with freezing rain near the Wisconsin state line as temperatures fall near freezing. More precipitation is expected over the area Sunday and Sunday night, and should end as a period of light snow.

Tuesday is our only hope of seeing the sun for the next three days. Not exactly a great week ahead of us. Today cold and rainy then Sunday more for the same except changing to snow in the nighttime hours.
