National Weather Service

TuesdayMarch3

A spring storm system will move through the area Tuesday and Tuesday night, and will bring a variety of weather to the region. Thunderstorms will be possible late tonight into Tuesday, especially across the southeastern parts of the area, where a slight risk of severe storms will be in place during the day Tuesday. Rain will then change to snow Tuesday night, with some minor accumulations of up to 2 inches possible across far northern Illinois.

For those of you who are not into meteorological potpourri mixes, perhaps you should just fall asleep until Thursday, because we will see it all. From thunderstorms to just rain to snow. Not a great week to breakout the spring or summer wear. No reprieve temperature wise either. We will be stuck down into the 20s and 30s all week long.  So continue to plan the flowerbeds and vegetable gardens for next week. They ain’t happening this week.
