Weather Update for Tuesday, February 6, 2018 – Snow tonight. Accumulation 1-3″
We will be in a snow cycle every 24-36 hours for the remainder of the week. The combination of a doward jetstream and a low pressure area still has a target painted on the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana. Tuesday during the day, we will have increasing cloud cover with light winds out of the northwest at 5 mph, temperature 19 degrees. The snow will return in the evening mostly around 8-9 pm with temperature steady at 16 degrees and winds northwest at 5-10 mph. Total accumulation is expected to be 1-3″.
The main streets should be clear and salted. However use caution on side streets and county roads that are less traveled. Be prepared to an occasional icy spot. Then again, some of you never listen. Believe us we know. To borrow from our favorite insurance commercial “We’ve seen a thing or two, so we know a thing or two”. To watch a great number of you drive in these conditions is amusing yet scary. Taking corners and turns a high rate of speed could be interesting in snow packed and icy conditions. The amusement parks are closed so we assume some of you are still looking for that adrenaline rush. Let’s exercise caution though. There are people like us who need to get to work and home safely…. so give us a chance.
With the extended forecast calling for a cycle of snow during weekend and into next week, we are pressing two advisory buttons now! The CLC (Checkout Line Congestion) and the HHHH (Hostess Ho Ho Hoarders) advisory. Remember there is a cause and effect here. The HHHHs move into the grocery stores causing CLCs. Remember the safety rules, no eye contact and keep all sweets and potato chips in a hard to reach place in your shopping basket. If they strike up a conversation while in line, just agree with everything by smiling and nodding your head occasionally . At all cost avoid politics! Be safe!
