Weather for Tuesday, January 16, 2018 Lake Effect Snow in the city from 5-8 am.
Lake effect snow showers will increase across along the Illinois lake shore areas early this morning, and will continue into midday before shifting southeast into northwest Indiana. While much of the snowfall will be light, expect brief periods of locally moderate snow, which may reduce visibility to a mile or less and produce accumulations on roads. This may slow the morning commute, causing slippery travel in some spots. Elsewhere, light snow lingers early this morning. Most areas will see little or no accumulation outside of the lake effect, though a dusting to a couple tenths are possible south of the Chicago metro area early this morning.
Those traffic reporters will be busy this morning because we all know how to drive in these conditions. I seriously think we are caught in some multidimensional loop that prevents some from advancing in their knowledge of how to drive in inclement conditions. I mean seriously, how long have you lived in the Chicago area? Yes autonomous driving vehicles are needed now! I wonder when those bad boys take to the streets, will there be a way for the autonomous car to flip off an idiot driver and maybe yell obscenities and inappropriate names through a externally mounted speaker? I know what I’m sending Tesla’s design improvement suggestion box.
