Weather for Monday, January 15, 2018
Snow will overspread the area late this afternoon and evening with totals of 3-5” before it tapers to flurries on Monday. These flurries could continue Monday night into early Tuesday. Additional lake effect snow showers are possible Monday night across far northeast Illinois and then Tuesday for northwest Indiana. Lows tonight in the upper teens will be milder than the values around zero that occurred last night, but single digit lows return again for Monday night and Tuesday night. Highs Monday in the lower to middle 20s will also be a bit warmer than today in most locations. Most of the Chicago and Northwest Indiana area will receive 1-2″ with the exception of a 20 mile band from northwest and southwest of the city could receive 3-5″
Since many over reactionary people are still in the grocery stores “stocking up” for fear of a weather event that will reach biblical proportions, we will extend the CLC and HHHH advisories until Tuesday. Seriously people! It will not be all that bad. Most areas will receive, by Chicago standards, a dusting.
CLC and HHHH Advisories extended into Tuesday
