Bitterly cold temperatures will persist through Saturday night with near zero or subzero low temperatures expected Friday & Saturday mornings and wind chills of 15 below to 25 below. Lake effect snow showers are expected to continue across northeast Porter County and areas to the east tonight and Friday. Temperatures will rebound back into the 30s Sunday and Monday but will be accompanied by a chance of snow and possibly a wintry mix in spots. If you have travel plans this weekend, stay tuned to the forecast as details begin to come into better focus. Well better focus for most of us. We know what the weekend means for some of you. Just remember what your mother said out making silly faces. If you make a silly face out in these conditions, you may end up staring in the next Batman movie as the Joker.

Windchill

Wind chill is how the wind and cold feel on exposed skin. The colder the temperature and stronger the wind, the quicker frostbite could set in on exposed skin.
