Tuesday2

The bitterly cold weather continues through the week, with tonight into Tuesday morning the coldest portion of this stretch. For the return to work Tuesday morning, expect dangerously cold wind chills ranging from 20 to 40 below zero. Tuesday’s afternoon temperatures are expected to be higher than on New Year’s Day, but offset by an increasing southwest breeze. Temperatures may then be steady or slowly rise Tuesday night after an initial fall. Snow showers are possible with the next cold front after midnight Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with widespread subzero low temperatures returning for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Unless you must be outside, don’t be outside. It’s that simple. During these conditions, frostbite can happen within minutes. Please be sure that pets only remain outside long enough to take care of their business. If you have boots for our pets, use them. If you notice your furry pal limping, bring them in immediately.

Hold on, we could be seeing higher temperatures next week. Stay safe until then.

Windchill
Wind chill is how the wind and cold feel on exposed skin. The colder the temperature and stronger the wind, the quicker frostbite could set in on exposed skin.
DangersCold
With bitterly cold weather forecast for much of the week, it’s important to know the dangers associated with extreme cold temperatures.
