Keaton Jones, video goes viral. He has a little something to say about bullying.
Bullying and social media trolling are a cancer on our society that grows at alarming and yet painful rate. Our existing political environment in which our political leaders use social media to shame and attack others is setting a dangerous precedent. Up to a staggering 70% of kids report that they have been bullied or have witnessed bullying. Bullying can result in reluctance to go to school and truancy, headaches and stomach pains, reduced appetite, shame, anxiety, irritability, aggression and depression are also frequent effects.
Often the family members and friends are collateral damage. Although innocent, they take on the pain of the target and are equally shamed.
Yet some adults set a poor example. Internet Trolling has reached epidemic proportions. False accusations and malformed truths plaque social media.
Listen to Keaton’s questions. We should all take time to reflect. At the beginning of 2018 you will notice many initiatives both in our schools as well as social media to stop this lowest form of human interaction.
We would like to thank the Titans for their support of Keaton and for giving Keaton and his family four tickets to a Titan game.
