“The Walk” a Story of Hope
The Walk is a show that will chronicle personal stories of addiction and recovery. Sharing stories like these help us all to shine a light on addiction and to remove social stigma.
In addition we will provide information about ALL the resources available in Lake, Porter, LaPorte counties as well as nationally.
“The Walk’s” steering committee is comprised of nationally recognized rehab specialists, people who have struggled with addiction, a minister, several family members of addicts as well a legal counsel. Our steering committee’s goals are to;
- Provide a beacon of hope to those struggling with addiction by providing stories of recovery and changed lives.
- Provide an UNBIASED list of All treatment centers, halfway houses and other resources available both locally and nationally
- Provide information about costs of treatment and recovery as well as funding sources
- Save lives
We would like to thank our underwriter, Recovery Works of Merrillville, for supplying the production equipment as well as space within their facility for the production of The Walk.
Drug abuse is a growing problem not just within Porter County, but nationally. Stopping the supply of drugs is nearly impossible. It is only through thoughtful education and awareness that there can be an impact on this epidemic. Lives are at stake.
